Export Import Bank of Limited has a total of 131 branches in 41 districts of Bangladesh. Export Import Bank of Bangladesh (Exim Bank) is one of the leading private commercial banks in Bangladesh. The bank was established in 1999 under the leadership of the late Mr. Shahjahan Kabir, the founding chairman, who had a long dream of launching a commercial bank that would contribute to the socio-economic development of our country. The bank has been known as Bexim Bank Limited since its inception. But due to legal hurdles, the name of the bank was changed to EXIM Bank, which exports to Bangladesh Export Import Bank. Till 2014, the bank is operating with 80 branches and 45 ATM booths across the country. By July 2004, the bank had shifted all its conventional banking activities to Shariah-based Islamic banking.
